Strength, mobility and flexibility training

"Which is more important to a balanced body: strength or flexibility/mobility?......

......Let's say that strength is more important than flexibility/mobility. That would mean that it is more valuable to move heavy objects outside of the body, than to have full range of motion in the joints. Therefore, the heavy objects moved will be traveling in a limited range. Over time, that range will continue to shrink, if mobility is not addressed. The end result being a person trapped in the vessel of their body, with big strong muscles and little ability to move........

......My opinion on the original question posed is that there needs to be a balance between strength, mobility and flexibility training. Strength should be complimentary and not detrimental to mobility: think primal type movements or moving your own body weight (rings, pull ups, quad presses, inversions, etc). Flexibility & mobility should be geared to decompress the joints used in the strength work. This may seem very simplified, but it is critical to improving movement quality....."
